cbs e-world.cloud: New name for the all-in-one compliance platform

cbs industrial clients optimally prepared for new e-compliance and EDI requirements

Heidelberg, May 21, 2024 – The cbs E-Invoice World Cloud for complex data exchange with international tax authorities is now called e-world.cloud. This underlines the versatility of the all-in-one solution, which has long covered e-payment, e-delivery, e-reporting and conventional EDI functions in addition to classic e-invoicing. This gives cbs industrial customers a resilient, future-proof e-compliance platform that is unique on the market. Upcoming e-compliance topics such as the new tax law requirements for German e-invoicing are already covered.

The e-world.cloud has been firmly established on the market under its old name for more than ten years. The cloud solution has already processed around 15 million transactions from more than 700 legal entities across more than 100 companies. “The e-world.cloud is flying off the shelf. We have acquired numerous new customers this year. Above all, our holistic approach is appreciated by globally active industrial companies,” explains Oliver Villwock, Consulting Director at cbs.

The cloud solution enables companies to ensure e-compliance automatically and with little organizational effort in an all-round carefree package. In addition to classic e-invoicing, the tried-and-tested solution also supports e-payment, e-delivery and e-reporting requirements in many countries and has been expanded to include comprehensive managed EDI functions in B2B data exchange. Heterogeneous SAP and non-SAP system landscapes can also be easily connected. “Over time, we have developed the e-world.cloud from a special solution originally designed for e-invoicing into a versatile one-stop-shop that fully supports our customers in meeting all communication requirements in the areas of B2C, B2B and B2G. Whether current requirements or those that will come through further global digitalization: The e-world.cloud is the central compliance platform for the modern, digital enterprise. If we were to limit ourselves to just one e-concept, this would inevitably be wrong and would fall short,” explains Consulting Director Villwock.

e-invoicing in the global context

The requirements of e-invoicing and e-compliance are established worldwide and are constantly growing. Starting January 2025, the receipt of e-invoices in accordance with EN 16931 will also be mandatory for all German B2B transactions. This includes formats such as XRechnung, BIS 3.0 and ZUGFeRD. Incoming invoice processing in particular presents companies with challenges, as existing workflows and solutions need to be integrated with the legal formats.

The e-world.cloud makes it possible to design these invoice processes efficiently and to be flexibly prepared for future legal requirements. In addition to E-Rechnung, SAF-T in Romania and KSeF in Poland have recently been added to the range of functions. As a cloud service, the solution is continuously updated and expanded to include new areas of application and functions. The e-world.cloud now meets the legal requirements of more than 40 countries worldwide, including Spain, Finland, Turkey, Poland, the Czech Republic, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, India and China.

Efficient implementation of B2B and B2G requirements

Companies face challenges beyond sending and receiving electronic invoices to authorities: “Complex legal requirements arise in the area of communication with authorities, for example through e-reporting. SAF-T in Romania is the best example of this. The term e-invoicing is outdated and falls short,” explains Oliver Villwock.

In addition to reliable legal compliance, process integration with EDI is also a key topic of the e-world.cloud. Companies receive a comprehensive and integrated solution for the legal requirements in the B2G area and the business requirements in the B2B area. The fully automated outsourcing of e-compliance together with Managed EDI results in tangible benefits of digitization: costs can be reduced and capacities for value-adding activities can be saved by increasing efficiency.
